Karissa Ammerer "The Uniform Queen"

In 2012 Karissa moved to Dampier with her husband Rob and their four beautiful daughters.  On arrival Karissa wasted no time and immediately started her ‘volunteer career’.  Whatever sports, groups and association touches Karissa family she gives her time to that group to make it better.

Karissa joined the Dampier Primary School P & C Association straight after settling into town and has been on the association ever since, taking over the reins at the uniform shop in 2014.  Karissa has been the driving force behind a uniform change, assisted with the following school logo change, and manages the yearly book orders for the whole school.

She is very active parent help in the classrooms and has managed the cake stall at the school’s fete in 2015 and again in 2018.  She always bakes and offers her time for fundraising events.

Joining the Dampier Primary School Board in 2018, Karissa commits to their monthly meetings and acts as a liaison for the Board with the wider school community.

In 2015 Karissa became involved with the Dampier Dynamites Netball Club, coaching the U10’s team.  She has also been the Dampier ‘Net Set Go’ Co-ordinator since 2015 and has coached these 5-7 year-olds for the past three years.

This is the second year Karissa has been nominated.  This year she was nominated by both Jo Leo and Georgia Evans.
