Dampier Legends shine through.
As you all know at the DCA we love good news stories and Dampier good news stories well they are the icing on the cake. We were so proud yesterday to have our Dampier Doers acknowledged and celebrated at the City of Karratha Australia Day Awards.
These are the Dampierites that help keep our little town the amazing community it is. We would like to thank each and everyone of you for selflessly giving your time, energy, experience, patience and commitment to Dampier.
Of the 35 nominations in six categories, 14 of those were for Dampier residents and the DCA, an outstanding achievement for a town of 1200 people. Congratulations on your Citizens of the Year nomination and thank you .
Karissa Ammerer for your services to the DPS P+C Assn and the Dampier Dynamites Netball Club.
Brendon Archer for your services to the Dampier Jnr. Sharks Football Club, the North Pilbara Football Assn and the West Pilbara Cricket Assn.
Jamie Armstrong for your services to the Dampier Community Association, the Dampier BillyCart Derby, West Pilbara Football League and Karratha Dampier Teeball Assn.
Adam Bell for your 8 years of service to The Dampier Volunteer Fire and Rescue Service.

Kate Burnside for your service to the Dampier Community Assn. in particular the DCA’s Youth initiative.
Sharyn Creighton for over 15 years of volunteering in Dampier from Playgroup to DPS P+C, The DCA and the Mother’s Day Classic event.
Graham Ferguson for your services to The Dampier Volunteer Fire and Rescue Service and the King Bay Game Fishing Club.
Gill Furlong for service to the Dampier Community Assn, DPS P+C and Dampier Red Dogs Soccer Club.
Jo Leo for over 10 years of service to Dampier in many clubs and groups including, the Dampier Dynamite Netball Club, the DPS P+C, Karratha Dampier Teeball Association, Social 7’s Softball, Little Athletics Club and this year the Dampier Biggest Morning Tea Event.
Conor O’ Brien for over 10 years of service in Dampier also in many clubs and groups including, the Dampier Red Dogs Soccer Club, Karratha Districts Junior Soccer Assn. the DCA, the Karratha Dampier Teeball Assn, the DPS School Board and the Karratha Swim Club.
Grant “Pup” Theelan for your service to the Dampier Sharks Football Club.
Sharon Vertigan for an amazing 26 years of volunteering in Dampier. She is the longest standing member of the Dampier Community Assn. committee holding many executive positions in that time , also Dampier Ward Councillor for 8 years and a long term member of Dampier and Districts Repertory Company.
