Wendy Rogers - "The Disco Queen'
Wendy has embraced the Pilbara since 2000, settling here in Dampier with her husband Mark and their two boys in 2008.
Wendy has been involved with the Karratha Dampier Teeball Association since 2013. Coaching both the ‘Crushers’ and the ‘Stingers’ for two years in Juniors, followed by two years in Intermediate, she will hopefully make her Senior debut this coming season…..
Wendy is very much loved by the kids she coaches, she is a dedicated, enthusiastic coach, who nurtures and encourages kids of all skill levels and builds the love of the game. When she wasn’t managing a team herself, she stepped up on more than one occasion to support other coaches and always offers to bench mange, line umpire or help score the game.
When her boys were at Dampier Primary School, Wendy was famous for her fundraising discos, most notably the Halloween one - the likes of which have never been seen again. Wendy also spent many hours as classroom helper, assisting in the canteen and lending a hand at all P & C events.
Over the past few years Wendy had helped fundraise for the Dampier Performing Arts group, raising much needed funds for their end of year show by cooking up and serving bacon and egg burgers at the Dampier Markets.
