Jamie Armstrong

Jamie, an East Coast boy, briefly dipped his toes into FIFO life in The West back in 2010 he soon saw the light and moved here to Dampier with his wife Ali and their 3 children. With his love of the ocean and the great outdoors the Armstrong’s knew they were at home from the beginning.

There is no doubt Jamie is a passionate, yes firey!! community man. His ideals of leading by example and engaging wholeheartedly with the community where his family will grow, live and learn has benefited the whole of Dampier. Jamie throws himself 100 % into every facet of life that touches him and his family, from his life as a engineer to sporting committees and much more.

DCA Achievements : Jamie joined the DCA two years ago and like everything else he does, embraced the position right from the start. Jamie (along with a very small group of Dampier residents) has been the brains, the motivation, the coordinator, the grafter and the driving force behind the Dampier Billy Cart Derby since its inaugural event in 2016. The DBCD, an amazing, exciting, fun family event which touches not only the Dampier community but right across the City of Karratha, the Pilbara and this year with entrants as far as the Perth Hills, won The City of Karratha’s Community Event of the year for 2018. Jamie is a constant, reliable volunteer at all DCA run events from markets to movies, annual art awards to our Citizen of the year awards.
