So we’ve had a break and we’re all rejuvenated here at the DCA. The second half of 2019 is as exciting here in Dampier as the first was. Let’s start with events set in stone, so you can ‘Save the Dates’.
Dampier Sunset Movies Date @ Hampton Oval
The 9th August - “Ralph Breaks the Internet “. The 20th September (movie TBA). Our Christmas Movie on the 7th December.
Dampier Beachside Markets Dates
The 11th August- our final Sunday morning event. The 7th September - this is a special Twilight Red Dog Festival Market, celebrating all things Red Dog with the return of the Mangy Mutt Dog Show, screening of the Red Dog Movie and lots more…. The 5th October. The 2nd November. Finally our famous Twilight Christmas Market on the 7th December.
Dampier Billy Cart Derby - 24th August Vroom Vroom. Get your entries in quick, as places are limited, go to www.dampier.org.au to register.
Projects on the table - Establishing a Dampier Community Garden. We have identified the space, got all the permissions now we need the green thumbs. So Gardeners get your gloves on and let’s start digging. Please contact DCA ASAP if you’d like to get dirty. To coincide with the garden we are very excited to be reinstating the historical Dampier Garden Competition. Get the opportunity to show off your oasis, your amazing vegie patch, the best outdoor dunny or your palatial patio. This will more likely be judged in 2020 so again let’s start digging.
2019 marks the completion of the DCA’s Dampier Community Plan 2014 - 2019. This is plan established in 2014 by the DCA after extensive community engagement. We have worked tirelessly to meet the expectations of this plan, to celebrate these achievements and to start our next Community plan 2020 - 2024 once again we have lots of fun community engagements ideas up our sleeve….. Watch this space.
