As the ROLLER-COASTER slows we get time to reflect.

It’s a wonderful feeling to sit back at this time of year and reflect on the great year it has been, and certainly 2019 has been a great year for us at the DCA.

Our connection with our community has never been stronger, we are proud of the many and varied events we hosted this year from Markets to Movies, Art Awards and Citizens Awards, Purple People and Billy Cart races, Red Dog and Dampier celebrations. After months of our “DCA Reconnects” campaign our Dampier Plan 2020-2024, will be revealed early next year.

In 2019 we also focused on building our strong relationship with the City of Karratha and we are very excited to announce that the DCA has successfully won the tender to manage the Dampier Community Hub community spaces from early 2020. This is a very exciting opportunity for us, our future certainly looks bright. This opportunity means growth and the chance for some lucky individual to join our organisation. We will be looking for a part time Admin Officer to join our team in March 2020.

So the bottom line - Dampier 2020 looks like: new opportunities, new plans put into action, the community garden in full bloom, a hotly contested garden competition , more Markets, Movies, Art Awards and celebrating our Dampier Doers, Red Dog fun, community dinners and open days and of course Billy Carts. But for now let’s stop, enjoy our family time whether they are with you or far away take a moment to feel the magic. Take the time to reset, embrace your loved ones and have a very Merry Christmas Dampier.
