Rubbish collection

The City of Karratha provides a weekly household waste collection every Tuesday for all Dampier households.

The City of Karratha requests that all bins are on the curb ready for pick-up by 7am. If you need a replacement bin, to cancel a bin or to register for rubbish services as a new resident please visit the City of Karratha’s Residential Rubbish Service page by clicking here

Dampier Community Recycling Station

The Dampier Community Recycling Station is located on the Esplanade opposite the Peninsula Palms.

A joint partnership between Rio Tinto and ToxFree, this facility recognises the importance of recycling in the community and have come together to provide a recycling station in Dampier.

The following items are accepted:

  • Glass
  • Glass items that are accepted include beer bottles, soft drink bottles that have been lightly rinsed. No ceramics are accepted.
  • Tin cans
  • Includes spaghetti and baked beans tins, dog food tins, lightly rinsed.
  • Cardboard and paper
  • Please flatten all boxes
  • Mixed plastic - lightly rinsed, all tops removed.
  • Aluminium cans
  • Soft drink cans, beer cans, lightly rinsed

Please remember that general household rubbish will not be accepted.

Karratha 7-Mile Waste Facility

The Karratha 7-Mile Waste Facility is located off Dampier Highway approximately ten kilometres from Karratha. The turn-off is on the right as you travel toward Karratha and is sign-posted.

The Karratha 7-Mile Waste Facility is open everyday form 7am to 4.30pm except on Christmas Day, New Year’s Day and Good Friday.
