Rates

The City of Karratha collects rates to fund a wide range of services including the maintenance of recreational facilities, roads and footpaths, waste management, parks and gardens, libraries as well as important community infrastructure projects such as the Karratha Leisureplex, Dampier Community Hub and Karratha Airport Terminal Redevelopment

Rates are the contribution each property owner makes to improving services and facilities within the City of Karratha for the growing needs of our community.

Rates are calculated annually from 1 July to 30 June.

Annual Council Rates are managed by the City of Karratha. For enquiries phone (08) 9186 8555 and ask to speak with the Rates Department.

Rates are paid by private residential, commercial and industrial land holders. If you are living in Rio Tinto or company supplied housing those entities (acting as “landlords”) will be responsible for rates payments on your property. If you have more questions about your payment obligations, it is recommended you contact the appropriate department or representative from your company.
